Built on Trust
Family-owned So-Cal Builders brings three decades of expertise and uncompromising attention to detail into custom homes across the Coachella Valley.
When Mike Roberts arrived in the Coachella Valley at 18, he learned to build the old-fashioned way—working as a laborer and learning the trade through hard work and hands-on experience. For more than three decades, that foundation has shaped every project at So-Cal Builders, the family-run firm he leads with his wife, Jennifer, and son, Michael.
Now one of the most trusted builders in the region, So-Cal has built its reputation as a quality-first builder through a commitment to careful preparation and exacting standards. Attention to detail is a defining cornerstone of the firm, guiding everything from project planning to on-site execution.
“We are all about defining the details from day one,” says Mike. “We’ve earned the trust of our many repeat clients through communication and transparency. We want the scope, budget, and vision for a project to be clear from the outset.”
That attention to detail carries through construction. Whether executing architectural plans or providing the firm’s seamless in-house design and build services, the team reviews drawings room by room, redlines details, and walks clients through layouts, lighting, cabinetry, and flow, ensuring every decision is informed and intentional.
“Building a home can be overwhelming,” Jennifer explains. “Our role is to guide and inform our clients through every step.”
Signature projects like Cavallo Ranch—an expansive residential compound designed for both private living and large-scale entertaining—illustrate the firm’s talent for delivering complex builds awash in refined details, from smooth plaster interiors to soaring 24-foot ceilings and meticulously crafted metal and millwork.
“At the end of the day, every build is personal to us,” Mike reflects. “When clients tell us their home exceeded expectations, that’s the most meaningful feedback we can get.”
